- Structure tree: Shortcut menu New subtree...
You can insert additional organizational trees with extended functions into the professional planner environment via the organizational subtree. Subtrees show you particular sections of the existing organizational structure and enable you to display an additional value for each element. The settings can be defined individually for each subtree. You can create and work with up to 50 subtrees in professional planner. Once a subtree is created, it can be used for any other dataset. Subtrees are handled like toolbars.
Right-click the element in the structure tree from which a subtree is to be created and select New subtree. Immediately, a new subtree with the name "Subtree 1" is displayed. To open the properties of the subtree, right-click into the white space around the subtree.
In the Properties window, the following properties of the subtree can be modified:
- Starting point
- Structural types
In the Description tab you can change the name of the subtree and add a comment. The starting point and dataset defined during creation can be modified anytime in the register tab Starting point. After clicking the Structure symbol, the structure selection box opens and the new starting point can be specified either by double-clicking the element or by selecting the element, and confirming with OK. In the Structural types tab you can define if this subtree should display all or only certain element types (e.g. company elements). The maximum amount of elements to be displayed (by default 5,000) can also be defined here.
In the Filter tab you can set a filter for the displayed element. The filter can refer to the element name; in this case all elements containing the text you entered in the element description are displayed in the tree. If you set an extended filter enter filter conditions such as drill-down filter.
You can determine whether the structure should be kept or the elements should be arranged in sequence using the Display sum elements option. You can display an additional field reference for each element. This way you can define if the comments, settings, group fields or the plan and the actual figures are shown directly in the structural tree. In addition to the field reference, you can also select the time period for which the data are to apply.
Just like the navigation trees, the subtrees can either be displayed in a window or in fixed positions. They can be moved, cascaded and activated individually. Closed subtrees can be opened again by right-clicking on the menu bar. Subtrees can be removed by right-clicking into the white space around the subtree and selecting the menu option Delete subtree from the context menu. After confirmation, the subtree is deleted permanently.
Please note that existing subtrees are refreshed in the background even if they are not visible. The filters contained in the subtree may require a lot of memory capacity, which slows down the opening of dataset considerably.
