The command Paste element... can be selected via the context menu of the structure tree. Right-click the element on which you would like to insert the structural branch and select Paste element....

There are a number of options available in the dialog that appears: When positioning the cursor over an option, you can see brief information on its function. Please refer to the article HowTo:Copy and paste elements for examples on how to use the various options. The following options are available:

  • Copy values only: If this option is enabled, only the data of the source element are pasted to the target element. Normally, no new elements are created, except if the copied element does not exist in the target structure yet. When transferring the data to the target element, the element names are checked. If the element does not exist, it is created automatically. If you enable the Copy values only option, another option is available:
    • Target element is parent element: This option must be activated if the copied element is on the same level as the element on which you want to paste it. In this way, the target element is reconciled directly with the copied element. If this option is disabled, the copied element is reconciled with the elements below the target element (child elements).
  • Copy transaction data: During the copy process, the data of the original elements are transferred to the pasted elements. Disable this option if you do not want to copy any data.
  • Copy settings: When enabling this option, all settings are transferred from the original element to the pasted element. However, this option does not influence the transfer of allocations.
  • Copy allocations: Select this option to transfer the allocations of receivables, liabilities, stock, etc. to detailed balance sheet accounts. For the allocations to be transferred correctly, the structure path and the element name of the detailed balance sheet account must be the same in in the source company and the target company. It is not essential that the structure paths are exactly the same, but the detailed balance sheet account and the allocated element must be on the same level in the target company and the source company.
  • No. of copies: In this box you can enter the number of copies you would like to make. By default, the element is taken from its original position and pasted to the selected position once.
  • New names: If you enable this option, "Copy of" is added to the name of the original element. By default, this option is disabled and name of the pasted element is the same as that of the original element. When copying and pasting elements across datasets, this option is not available.
  • Copy memos: By selecting this option you can transfer the memos you inserted for the element.
  • Currency conversion: If this option is enabled, the values of the source element are transferred according to the exchange rates entered in the Currency Conversion document. The option Without previous periods is displayed only if Currency conversion has been enabled. If you are copying and pasting elements from one dataset to another, the options Convert source data and Convert target data are displayed.
    • Without previous periods: If this option is enabled, currency effects from previous periods are not taken into consideration.
    • Convert source data: The data of the source dataset are converted according to its own exchange rate and are then transferred to the new dataset.
    • Convert target data: The data are transferred to the target dataset and are then converted according to the exchange rate valid for this dataset.
  • Transfer zero values: If the Copy values only option is enabled, zero values are transferred from the source element to the target elements even if there already are values.
  • Multi target: The option Multi target enables you to select several target elements. How the structure to be selected is displayed depends on the element selected in the structure tree when opening the "Paste" dialog via the context menu. Additionally, it is possible to search for target elements. You can either enter parts of the element name as search text or formulate a complete query as in a SetDat formula (e.g. FR4763=100). To start the search, please click on the Lupe.gif symbol next to the input field or press <Enter>. The search results are displayed in a list including the structure paths. If you click on the X.gif symbol next to the input field, the search is no longer displayed and you can see the structure again. The Stift.gif symbol only displays the elements you already selected as target elements. When clicking on the Strukturanzeige.gif symbol, the structure is displayed again.
