In the Format tab you can format, delete and insert cells, as well as change the workbook view. This tab is only available in open workbooks.

Font

  • Font: Here you can select the desired font and format the selected text or the text properties of a cell range accordingly.
  • Font size: Here you can select the desired font size and format the selected text or the text properties of a cell range accordingly.
  • Increase Font Size: Increases the font size.
  • Decrease Font Size: Decreases the font size.
  • Bold: Makes the selected text or the text properties of a cell range bold.
  • Italic: Italicizes the selected text or the text properties of a cell range.
  • Underline: Underlines the selected text or the text properties of a cell range.
  • Borders: Enables you to add a border to the selected cell range.
  • Fill Color: Colors the background of selected cells.
  • Font Color: Here you can select the desired font color and format the selected text or the text properties of a cell range accordingly.

By clicking the Erweitert.gif symbol, a dialog is opened in which you can change the font.


Alignment

  • Top Align: Aligns text to the top of the cell.
  • Middle Align: Aligns text so that it is centered between the bottom and the top of the cell.
  • Bottom Align: Aligns text to the bottom of the cell.
  • Align left: Aligns the text of the selected cell range to the left.
  • Center: Centers the text of the selected cell range.
  • Align right: Aligns the text of the selected cell range to the right.

By clicking the Erweitert.gif symbol, a dialog is opened in which you can define alignments, as well as wrap text and merge cells.


Number

  • Number Format: Formats the selected cells according to the selected number format.
  • Accounting Number Format: Formats the selected cells according to the selected accounting number format.
  • Thousands Separator: Displays the value of the cell using a thousands separator.
  • Percentage: Displays the value of the cell as a percentage.

By clicking the Erweitert.gif symbol, a dialog is opened in which you can define the number format in a more detailed way.


Cells

  • Insert: Inserts cells, rows or columns into the sheet or table.
  • Delete: Deletes cells, rows or columns from the sheet or table.
  • Format: Opens the dialog box for setting the cell properties of the selected cell or cell range.


Workbook View

  • Row Headers: Shows or hides the row headers of the document.
  • Column Headers: Shows or hides the column headers of the document.
  • Formula Bar: Displays the formula bar, in which you can enter text and formulas into cells.
  • Gridlines: Shows or hides the gridlines of the document.

By clicking the Erweitert.gif symbol, the Document Settings dialog is opened.


Freeze

  • Freeze: Enables you to freeze rows and columns in a document.


Edit

  • Select All: Selects the entire worksheet.
